David McConahy


David J King has been a partner in NKM since 1975.  Dave became one of the youngest appraisers to attain the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in 1979.


He also holds the RM and SRA designations from the Appraisal Institute.  Appraisals have been performed in 23 states.  He was one of the original members of the Pennsylvania State Board of Real Estate Appraisers and was nominated by both Governor Robert P Casey and Thomas J Ridge.  He was Chairman of the Board from 1995-2000.  He is a past  President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and served as the Ethics Administrator for the Institute’s Central Atlantic Region.

David E. McConahy graduated from Bethany College with a BA degree in Economics and immediately started his career in real estate appraising and consulting. Dave obtained his MAI designation in 1996 and currently holds appraisal certifications in 10 states. He became a partner at Nicklas King McConahy and has appraised commercial, industrial and residential properties in more than 20 states.


Dave routinely provides reports for lending purposes, portfolio valuation, estate planning, market studies, property tax valuation, and eminent domain. He has testified as an expert witness in several states including Ohio where a landmark tax appeal case was decided at the state Supreme Court. He was president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Appraisal Institute after serving on the Board of Directors for many years. Currently, Dave is president of the Jackson Township Zoning Hearing Board in Butler County.

Stephanie Steinbeck

Connor graduated from Buffalo State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology where he played NCAA Ice Hockey. He has worked with Nicklas King McConahy since 2012 and is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser with experience appraising hundreds of commercial, industrial and agricultural properties. Connor is a Dale Carnegie graduate and currently complies with all continuing education requirements of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Stephanie is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.  She is a state certified residential real estate appraiser and has the SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute. She has appraised thousands of houses in Northern Allegheny, Southern Butler and Eastern Beaver Counties over the past 25 years.
